one day before appointment

Begin by gently exfoliating the skin to remove any dead skin cells and prepare the area for a smoother hair removal process, if needed. Please use a PH balancing bodywash UNSCENTED. I personally use summers eve unscented. Anything that is heavily scented may throw off your PH which can effect the longevity of your tan. After your shower, lather the treated area with a generous amount of coconut oil or Vaseline to create a protective barrier and moisturize the skin effectively.

I highly suggest that your manicure and pedicure is done the day before your spray tan, preferably shellac/gel.

day of appointment

I highly suggest that you do not shower or apply any moisturizer within a minimum 6-hour window of your appointment to achieve the best results. Additionally, please avoid wearing any makeup or jewelry to your appointments, as this can interfere with the process. For your comfort and to protect your fresh spray tan, the best outfit to wear afterward is baggy, dark clothing.

appointment

The appointment typically runs between 10 to 20 minutes in duration. This time frame will include a detailed color consultation, a full application, and a dry down process to ensure everything is perfectly set.

post care

After your appointment your tan will need 1-14 hours to set depending on the solution. The first shower after your spray tan should be cold. This is a suggestion as tan typically fades in hot temperature water. Some clients find this extremely unpleasant however, you may opt for any temperature that works for you. It’s simply a precaution and you may notice that tan fading quickly and unevenly with high temperature water the first few days. Please do not shave or exfoliate in the shower. Please pat dry your tan never rub your skin. Moisturizing is key to up keeping your color, my personally favorite is Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion (yellow bottle). Drink plenty of water as your skins first source of hydration is water.

removing spray tan

Tans last 7-10 days depending on your post care routine, sometimes more and sometimes less. When following the appropriate steps your spray tan should fade evenly and naturally.

Here are a few tips to removing your spray tan once its reached its last leg

  • Soak in a hot shower, at least 10 minutes before you start exfoliating

  • Take an oil based cleanser - I recommend l’occitane or Aveno shower and bath oil skin relief

  • After you’ve cleansed your skin you can go in with your exfoliation - I recommend lush buffy bar or lush sex bomb scrub. I like to start working it in with my hands first.

  • With the exfoliation still on your body you can go in with your DRY renaissance glove or exfoliating mitt. Light circular motions is key! You can continue these steps till you feel comfortable with the results.

  • Once you get out of the shower you can go in with a oil based moisturizer while your still wet and let it absorb into your skin.

  • You may need to repeat this over the span of 2 days depending on how much your skin absorbs your tans.

  • You can also use these steps 1-2 days before your appointment as a PREP.
